Seasons Of Life

Fall is here and the colors are finally coming out here at our homestead. I just love all the beautiful colors of Fall. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it lasted longer with temperatures in the 70's? I know I would enjoy that thoroughly and I'm sure you would too.

But that's not possible as much as we wish it. Seasons come and seasons go from year to year. And with each season things change in our lives. Life brings us joy, grief, blessings, and dissatisfaction as it takes many twists, and turns. And no matter how much we wish it wasn't so, we can't change these seasons that come into our life. Just as nature changes with the seasons, so do the circumstances in our lives.

So rest assured change is guaranteed in life. Change will come, it will happen. Sometimes we fear this change because we feel more out of control with our lives. You can't control everything in life. Not even your own life. Big changes will come at any time, any age, or at any season of our lives especially when we least expect it to happen.

You and I can accept this fact and look to God to help us through these seasons / circumstances of our lives. God has a plan for you and I. His plan brings hope for a future for us and to prosper us. God told us in Isaiah 40:8 "The grass withers, and the flower fades, but the word of God will stand forever."

As seasons and circumstances change in our lives we can see God's hand at work in our lives. And that indeed is a blessing! To let God work in lives with each season and circumstance to draw you and I closer to Him.

Without those seasons and circumstances you and I would not change or grow in our relationship with one another or with God. So give it all over to God daily and then you won't be so fearful of the changes in your life. He will give you comfort and He will lead you. He also will help you with the decisions you need to make. When you do all of this then you will feel a deep sense of relief.

"Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Back during my high school years every Summer, I would ride one of my older cousin's horses in the July fourth parade in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania. East Smithfield is a quaint little country town

Years ago, when our two children were only five and seven years old, we lived in an apartment on a dead-end road. The neighbors all knew each other and did things with one another. We even knew each

Today as I came upon Danny Boys property, I saw he was sitting at the entry of his big garage. I thought to myself, I've got a few minutes, I'm going to stop and chat with my Christian brother. Danny
