1 John 2:15,16,17 tells us, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof :but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."
Many Christians try to keep one foot in the world and one foot with God and you'll surely split you're pants doing that. You can't be truly living for God when you have one foot in the world. God wants to be on the throne of you're life. He wants you to put Him first in you're life.
Let's be occupied with God instead of the world. Meaning , being occupied with satisfying our physical desires, craving and accumulating things, obsessed with building a status for ourselves (wanting to be important). Those things won't matter in the end when you die.
